TVJ goes global with London 2012: Pure Gold Experience
Television Jamaica (TVJ) recently launched its internationally flavoured London 2012: Pure Gold Experience for the Summer Olympic Games, live on TVJ's Smile Jamaica morning programme.
TVJ, partnering with foreign television platforms, will be creating and taking content on Jamaica's involvement in the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games to television stations on three continents, 22 countries in the Caribbean and London England.
The uniqueness of this new global programming thrust by Jamaica will see content from London and Jamaica simulcast across the Tri State area of the United States, the Caribbean via Caribvision, Europe and the United Kingdom (UK) via the Sky Satellite TV platform and Africa via BEN TV, a UK partner.
"This is a very special development for us from many standpoints. The channels are very excited about the collaboration, Olympians we have met in London want to be involved in our coverage and businesses are seeing the opportunities of engaging with TVJ and reaching the UK, Europe, African the US-Tri States, 22 Caribbean countries and Jamaica," said Gary Allen, said RJR Group managing director.
"It is a massive reaching out by TVJ on an area of activities that Jamaica and TVJ have excellent track records on," he added.
Last week, agreements were signed in London with SKY Satellite channels BEN TV and NEW OBE TV, which secures the TVJ footprint in the UK, Europe and Africa for one and half hours of special Jamaica-related Olympic/London programming daily for three weeks.
In Jamaica, the programming offering will be spearheaded by the Smile Jamaica show and a panel hosted by Neville Bell, with expert analysts Bruce James, David Riley and Earl Bailey. On location in London will be Simon Crosskill and a team including Olympic gold medallist Tessa Sanderson, among other stars. Simulcast will start Monday July 23, 2012 at 7:30 a.m.
TVJ's global London 2012: Pure Gold platform will provide a one-of-a-kind opportunity for advertisers who have an interest in the markets that love Jamaica and things Jamaican.
Advertisers will be able to choose to be associated here in Jamaica, on the Caribbean platform, on the UK and European platform or a combination of the three.
