The Frankfield division in the Clarendon Parish Council has been turned over to the People's National Party's (PNP) Orville Hackett, following yesterday's official count.

Hackett won by 16 votes.

Lee Mundle of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) appeared to have won the seat by two votes on Monday night, based on the preliminary count. That count showed Mundle polling 1,417 votes to the PNP's Hackett's 1,415.

However, following the official count yesterday, the number of votes totalled for Hackett was 1,424 while Mundle's was 1,408. Some 41.5 per cent of the electorate voted in the election.

Frankfield, located in North West Clarendon, elected Caleb Lewinson of the JLP in 2007. He had polled 1,888 votes to Hackett's 794. Then, 46 per cent of the electorate voted.
