Summerfest Productions has announced that long-time partners Digicel, Red Stripe, Jamaica Tourist Board and now Pepsi have recommitted their support of the 20th staging of Reggae Sumfest.

The greatest reggae show on earth returns to Catherine Hall, Montego Bay, from July 19-21. However, music lovers are in for a treat with a week of activities scheduled to begin on July 15 in the Second City.

Johnny Gourzong is pleased with the return of his partners, as he expects their collective support and the work of the Summerfest team to deliver an outstanding entertainment experience for fans.

"Reggae Sumfest is always about a big entertainment experience that encourages camaraderie among music lovers. This year promises to be even better, with Summerfest promotions joining the celebration of Jamaican heritage within the context of the 50th year of Independence. We have a wonderful package in store and Digicel, Red Stripe, Jamaica Tourist Board and Pepsi have already committed to making this an even better staging," he said.

The Reggae Sumfest Week begins with a massive beach party on Sunday, July 15, which will be staged at Aquasol. Pier One comes alive on Wednesday, July 18 with well-known disc jockeys set to flex their musical prowess in a sound clash. The three-night concert scheduled for Catherine Hall holds much promise for music lovers.

Patrons will jam to the sounds of hardcore music currently dominating the airwaves on Thursday, July 19, at dancehall night, featuring live performances from dancehall's most popular entertainers.

On Friday, Summerfest Productions presents a tribute to the greats in recognition of Jamaica's heritage, reflected in all aspects of life including music. Patrons will be treated to performances from international stars, based locally and internationally, on Saturday, July 21.

Director of Marketing and Sponsorship Marcia McDonough anticipates a highly engaging entertainment experience for supporters of the festival.

"We want our fans to be very involved in creating the Reggae Sumfest experience this year, and so we will kick off the marketing with some interesting competitions and consumer activities. Our sponsors will also get the chance to work with us to develop exciting promotions that will also involve the consumers," she explained.
