Dr KATHY-ANN Brown, deputy solicitor general, has been appointed to act as solicitor general following the departure of Douglas Leys who went on pre-retirement leave at the end of March.

Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Justice Robert Rainford told The Gleaner yesterday that the position of solicitor general has been advertised internally, but in the interim Brown would act in the position.
