Best Dressed Free Range Chicken gets international rating!
Since Best Dressed Chicken introduced the Free Range Chicken to the market in December 2011, there has been steady interest in the product, resulting in an increase in distribution islandwide.
"The main support has come from the retail market," said Cordia Panton-Williams, brand manager for Best Dressed Chicken.
She noted that the Free Range Chicken can be found in most Hi-Lo supermarkets islandwide, as well as in MegaMart, Kingston and Montego Bay. In addition, Lee's Supermarket on Red Hills Road; Loshusan, John R. Wong and General Foods in Kingston, as well as General Foods in Ocho Rios, all carry the product.
"Our customers are very excited about the product and have congratulated Best Dressed Chicken for taking the initiative to introduce the Free Range chicken to the market," she continued.
In fact, the Free Range chicken has been granted Global Animal Partnership (GAP) Step 3 rating, which makes Best Dressed Chicken the first poultry company outside of the United States of America and Canada to be GAP certified. GAP is a non-profit organisation dedicated to continually improving the lives of farm animals raised for meat, under a 5-Step Animal Rating System. They have established different levels for rating the birds depending on their access to the outdoors. Additionally, the Best Dressed Chicken Free Range chickens are monitored by the Jamaica Veterinary Service Division.
At the time of introducing the product to the market three months ago, Christopher Levy, president & CEO of the Jamaica Broilers Group Limited, described the product as another winner on the company's list of quality products.
