 Red Stripe's trademark non-alcoholic brand, Malta, has launched a new variant, Malta Light, for health-conscious consumers seeking a low-calorie, vitamin-enriched drink.

Launched two weeks ago, Malta Light has only 100 calories, 40 per cent less sugar than the original Malta, and contains essential B vitamins, making it a great drink for any occasion.

Red Stripe, which produces Malta Light, said its latest innovation was produced based on consumer demand.

"Malta Light is a response to our consumers' feedback for a low-calorie, less sweet malt beverage. We know the demand is there and we see this as a great opportunity to deliver an innovation that is consumer driven," said Jomo Cato, head of marketing.

Malta Light joins the Malta family which includes Malta, Malta Refresh and Malta Velvet.

Malta Light is endorsed by reigning Miss Jamaica Universe Shakira Martin. As a beauty queen, Martin knows the importance of rewarding her body with a healthy drink and says Malta Light fits in perfectly with her lifestyle.

"Malta Light is a great anytime drink - with lunch, after a workout or refreshing yourself on a hot day. And with only 100 calories, I can have it all," said Martin.

Consumers can experience the refreshing taste of Malta Light at sampling sessions at supermarkets across the island.
