Excellent health care here
THE EDITOR, Sir:
With regard to the lead story of The Sunday Gleaner ('Strong medicine', April 22, 2012), it is very true that people visit Jamaica for health care from other Caribbean countries.
I was one that did so last September when I took my daughter to the Bustamante Hospital for Children. I am a Jamaican, but my daughter wasn't born in Jamaica. Compared to the doctors abroad, the doctors in Jamaica know their stuff, even the young ones. The nurses were excellent, even the trainees.
The prices for all the tests my daughter had to undertake were way less expensive than overseas. I was fully satisfied with the care she got at Bustamante Hospital, and I want to say thanks to all the doctors and nurses that dealt with my daughter.
The facility needs some improvement, but the service is good. What I am trying to say is that you guys can make money off it and you need to look seriously at that.
