Gore Developments hosts open house

Published:Wednesday | April 25, 2012 | 12:00 AM

FOLLOWING ON the heels of a successful open house event in Kingston in which some 200 persons attended, Gore Developments Limited will be hosting another open house on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its Florence Hall Village development in Falmouth.

With the same format as the Kingston open house, Gore will once again be partnering with the National Housing Trust, Jamaica National Building Society, Victoria Mutual Building Society, National Commercial Bank, CIBC, Scotiabank, RBC Royal Bank, Churches Credit Union and City of Kingston Cooperative Credit Union.

Each institution will have a booth at the event where attendees are expected to receive immediate, personalised financial information, with details such as the amount eligible to borrow and monthly payments. This process of examining an individual's income, debt and assets is referred to as a pre-qualification and will assist attendees in determining the price range of homes they can afford to pursue. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view Gore's model home.

Greater insight

According to Lenford Rodney, Jamaica National Building Society loan officer, "The open house gives persons an opportunity to look at products and services offered by financial institutions, as well as giving them a greater insight into what is available by the developers."

Richard Kidd, financial services manager at Victoria Mutual Building Society, also agreed, stating that the event "allows the public to view first-hand what is available to them and to come in contact with financial institutions that can assist in making their dream of owning their home a reality".

Gore's homeownership education thrust began in 2010 with seminars being held across Jamaica, as well as overseas for Jamaicans living in the USA, Canada, Cayman and England.
