Prayer changes all things

Published:Saturday | May 5, 2012 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

I must say I was very happy to hear a radio station with a slot where there is a prayer for the nation at noon each day. It was heart-warming knowing that, with prayer, our land could be healed. Healed from all the murders and all other evil, and that love will prevail among us as a nation.

The radio station I was listening to was TBC, and a person was praying about current challenges that the nation is experiencing.

If we all would come together and pray to God about our problems, it would make a difference. If we can recall when a hurricane was headed our way and the nation was called upon to pray, God had answered our prayer and we were saved. If it happened in the past, it can happen again, because God loves Jamaica, and prayer changes things.

Jamaica is a place that is said to have the most churches per square mile, but it is also said to be the murder capital of the world. How can this be possible? Is it because we are not praying enough about our challenges?

Let us change this and be known as the praying capital of the world, where love prevails.

I also urge our leaders to pray about everything because God answers prayers.
