The St Aidan's (mission).

THE EDITOR, Sir:

This letter is to highlight a positive happening within the Anglican churches in the southern section of the parish of St Elizabeth, as it relates to the dedicated, hard-working priest, the Rev Basil McLeod.

The rector has been assigned to the Southfield Cure approximately two and a half years ago, and to see the tremendous work being accomplished physically and spiritually gives us the confidence that he is a man of God, backed up by the melodious voice of his wife, Joan.

I make specific reference to the refurbishing of the St Aidan's Mission here in Bull Savannah, which previously was in disrepair and which had a very small congregation, now boasts a beautiful church with increased membership and which is touching us spiritually.

The church (mission) is more than 100 years old, and in the early days was used as a school. Our eldest member, Mrs Joyce Powell, is 97 years old. Rev McLeod is rector for six churches, and from information gathered, all have benefited tremendously from his stewardship in one way or another.

I can recall during his installation at the St Mary's Anglican Church here in St Elizabeth, he said, with a slip of the tongue, that his next base would have been in St Ann, and you could hear the uproar of "No! No! Not at all!" This shows the appreciation of the congregation. He is a good worker for the Lord.
