Freddie McGregor, Marcia Griffiths to headline Mother's Day event

MONTEGO BAY, St James:

Dream Girlz Collections and Tropical Beach have teamed up to create a Mother's Day concert dubbed 'To Mom With Love', slated for May 13.

Patrons will get an opportunity to experience an evening of musical excellence and fashion with Marcia Griffiths and Freddie McGregor against the backdrop of the Tropical Beach complex in Montego Bay.

"We are pulling out all the stops to make this the event of the year. Both artistes have performed together many times over the years and have promised that patrons will get a show second to none," said organiser Nelcia Salmon.

Other performers

In addition to the reggae veterans, Kirky C of Poison Dart from Tampa, Florida, will play musical selections, along with Sound Fuze from Ocho Rios, and the S.A.N.E. Band.

Well-known comedian Elmo will make a guest appearance following a performance from The Devine Men of Choice.

Salmon pointed out that the event would also have a fashion component.

"The fashion show will take on similar characteristics of the international renowned Victoria's Secret fashion show," she noted. "We saw this as an opportunity to celebrate Mother's Day with fashion and entertainment, one of the most sophisticated and hybrid events for this year and years to come."

According to the organisers, the show was conceptualised to fill a void in the entertainment calendar in Montego Bay on Mother's Day.

"We are motivated to produce a very entertaining show. It is our intent to provide a safe, fun-filled atmosphere that everyone can enjoy."
