Caribbean Weekly Stock Market Report

Despite gains on Manufacturing and Junior Marketstocks, losses on Conglomerate, Banking and Insurance & Investments stocks saw the major Caribbean indices end the week lower.
For the week 9,208,378 shares valued at US$3,895,378 crossed the floors of the six stock exchanges across Caricom, with 30 stocks advancing, 55 declining and 39 remaining unchanged.
Sagicor Life Jamaica was the volume leader with 9,208,378 shares traded. Pulse posted the largest gain of 19.39% for the week, while on the losing end, Palace fell 16.68%.
For the week, 12 of the CSX 30 stocks advanced, 12 declined and six were unchanged.
The CSX 30 lost 1.48 points to close the week at 1,292.37, down 1.72% year to date. There were gains for JMMB 11.17%, C&W Jamaica 7.11% , Caribbean Cement 5.83% and Scotia Group Jamaica 2.02%. On the losing end Lascelles fell 3.12%, NCB Jamaica 2.90%, Grace Kennedy 2.85% and Gleaner 1.11%.
On the junior market, five stocks advanced and seven declined. The CJSX gained 3.52 points to close the week at 1,616.34, down 11.04% for the year. There were gains for AMG Packaging 10.21%, Honey Bun 4.46% , Caribbean Producers 3.14% and General Accident 1.43%.
