Omega 'A', Jobs Lane clash in JNA Division 'B' final
A pulsating encounter is expected today when Omega 'A' and Jobs Lane United clash in the final of the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA)/Best Dressed Chicken Divisional 'B' League at the Leila Robinson Courts starting at 5:30 p.m.
In the curtain-raiser of the double-header, Leiba Gardens will oppose Ebony Strikers in the third-place play-off, starting at 4 p.m.
Omega secured their place in the final with an exciting 32-30, win over Leiba Gardens, while Jobs Lane United booked their spot in the final with a nail-biting 29-28 win over Ebony Strikers in the semi-final.
"It is going to be a good final game because both teams play exciting netball," said Sylvester Campbell, coach of Omega 'A'. However, I am confident that we can win, but my team will have to stay focused and concentrate for the entire game," he said.
Campbell added: "We plan to go all out in attack and I expect my defenders to also play strong for us because they have been very consistent for us this season."
Jobs Lane confident
On the other hand, Jobs Lane United's coach, Herman Thorpe, is also full of confidence ahead of today's encounter.
"We are going out there to play to the best of our abilities and hopefully we can come out victorious," said Thorpe.
"I am confident that we can pull it off because we have been playing well this season and the girls are fit and ready to go," he said.
Thorpe added: "We have a very disciplined team because these girls have been playing together for the past three years and I believe that they are ready to deliver for us in this final."
Jobs Lane United will rest their hopes in the hands of goal shooter Kimberly Allen, centre Vanessa McLaughlin, wing defence Brittani Lewis and goal defence Alexce Francis to lead their charge to victory.
