General manager of the Golden Age Home, Laurette Adams-Thomas, is wishing that more members of corporate Jamaica will follow Zhongdong Tang, regional general manager of China Harbour Engineering Company, who late last year made a donation of shower chairs to the facility.-CONTRIBUTED

Under pressure to improve conditions at the Golden Age Home in St Andrew, the administrators have produced a wish list, which they say, if granted, could see them transform the facility into a place Jamaicans can be proud of.

The administrators are pleading with the Government to provide them with some big-ticket items.

Broiler (sterilisation of laundry)

Additional water tank (5000 gallons)

Additional storage facility (two 40ft containers)

Additional retrofitted bathrooms ( at least 10 should be disabled-friendly)

Industrial food processor

The wish list also extends to private entities and corporate Jamaica who could partner with the Government help the facility to acquire:

Beds (single)

Mattresses and mattress covers

Diapers-minimum of 4,200 per month for one cluster

Bedlinen and towels

Shower chairs and shower beds

Wheelchairs (motorised and non-motorised)

Chest of drawers (preferably a eight drawer chest to be shared by two residents)

Autoclave - for sterilisation of medical equipment
