New York designer Raxann Chin last week gave guests a sneak peek of her Femheka clothing line in an intimate showcase at the Somerset Suite at the Courtleigh Hotel and Suites in Kingston.

Chin chose three of her signature pieces to give guests a feel of the line. The complete line will be showcased at Caribbean Fashionweek 2012.

The pieces unveiled included three free-flowing gowns, one with a plunging back, another with elegantly draped olive fabric and the third was a plum-coloured dress highlighted by a cream bodice.

The designer wants her designs to become a way of life for her clients.

Chin, a Jamaican by birth, traded a successful corporate career in 2008 for fashion design, a passion she had from a tender age.

The name Femheka is a combination of various words which come together to mean the feminine magical goddess.
