For Jamaica's 50, everything will be done in a big way and Saint International's StyleWeek is no different. At the launch of Styleweek 2012, Saint International's CEO Deiwght Peters, boasted that his event has been endorsed by the Jamaica 50 committee.

The Villlagio at the Wyndham Kingston hotel had standing room only. Twenty-nine designers whetted the appetites of guests in the room with a sneak peak of what their collections will entail.

This year's staging will comprise a number of must-attend events, the premier of which will kick off on Thursday, when style takes centre stage on the lawns of Kings House. High Tea 'N' Style, as it is dubbed, will be taken with the First Lady. Fashion will, too, invade Kingston's waterfront downtown with the City Style accessories show and party at the UDC car park.

The major men's fashion labels in Jamaica will then meet in the formal Gardens at Devon House for the International Men's Collection. On Saturday, the fashionistas get glammed up as they will make their way to the pirate city of Port Royal for International Mecca of Style at Fort Charles. The penultimate event of StyleWeek 2012 will be the region's longest runway show - Fashionblock on Knutsford Boulevard, New Kingston. This year, the entire Knutsford Boulevard will be blocked off for the event.

Be prepared for a whirlwind of style and elegance as fashion once again takes centre stage at StyleWeek Jamaica in a big way for the nation's 50th birthday.
