Henry hits double ton for Portland

Portland captain and all-rounder Herman Henry scored the first double century of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Senior Cup yesterday, however, in the end it was only good enough to lead his team to first innings honours against Police at Elleston Road.
Henry, who earlier this season was drafted by the Combined Campuses and Colleges, hit eight sixes and 32 fours during his knock, which propelled Portland to 521 in their first innings.
This was in reply to Police's 346 in their first innings. Police, batting a second time, reached 77 for two at the close.
"I was not expecting a double," said the Mico University representative.
"I was working on my first century as before the start of my innings I told myself I was not going to make any rash shots before I get to 100. It was when I reached 150 that I stared to accelerate."
Added the 22-year-old: "I really want to play for Jamaica, and have been training hard, and it is good to know that it is paying off, and benefiting my team."
Oliver Walker, who made 111 including 16 fours and two sixes, ended as Portland's second-best scorer against Ordane Hutchinson 5-135, while, when Police batted, Dwayne Sinclair, with an even 100 made most runs against Cleveland Whyte five for 67.
