NWC callous

Published:Tuesday | May 22, 2012 | 12:00 AM

I write to complain about the callous behaviour exhibited by the National Water Commission (NWC), despite repeated calls and pleas to fix its water main which was broken and left a home flooded out on Halart Drive, off Old Hope Road, Kingston 6 (logged number 956777).

These pleas have fallen on deaf ears. Because of this, since 11 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012, when we were made aware of the situation, the residents have had no water. Even speaking to a supervisor has made no difference.

It's in situations like these that we wish our last names were prominent as, without a doubt, the NWC would, without hesitation, have had the problem rectified from the first telephone call that was made.

Up to writing this letter on Monday, May 21, the NWC's motto, 'Water is Life', has no meaning. The house is still without water and the pipe, which is still running, has not been fixed. This problem would not take more than 15 minutes for a technician to repair.
