Her Royal Highness, The Queen of England was impressed with Jamaica's display at the Royal Horticultural Chelsea Flower Show in London on Monday, May 21.

Jamaica, represented by volunteers of the Kingston-based Jamaican Horticultural Society Chelsea team, led by Lucille Levene, ventures annually to London to participate in the 'olympics' of the horticultural world. For the past 16 years, the Chelsea team have won 11 silver awards.

"Each year we come to Chelsea, we try our best in spite of the challenges, but we love Jamaica and we love all the beautiful flowers Jamaica has to offer. As part of Jamaica's 50th, we really worked hard to make the trip to London, mostly because we need to show that even our flowers have bolt," says Levene, organiser of the Chelsea team.
