Nodia Cameron-Cunningham, a Jamaica-born make-up artist, a hot talent in Miami, Florida, is set to conduct a professional make-up seminar in Jamaica.

The 27-year-old Cameron-Cunningham has worked with American tennis champion Venus William; director and producer Hype Williams; rappers Kanye West, T.I., Eve; R&B singers John Legend, Neyo, Ashanti, Chrysette Michele and Akon.

She has also created looks for brands such as Puma, Bacardi, Hennessy, People magazine, Make a Wish Foundation and the American Cancer Society.

"The seminar will have a boot-camp feel where they'll be taken from doing a celebrity make-up to little bit more editorial. So they will be tested on speed, accuracy and detail," she said of the seminar due to be held on June 2, 2012.

She will also be focusing on the business aspects of the make-up industry, teaching professionals how to do a contract, getting proper exposure from trade shows and contracting photographers.

The professional has spent five years working as a retail artist for the beauty brand Mac Pro Cosmetics in South Beach, Miami. She also sat on the artist research panel, where she was asked to assist in testing and product development.

The seminar will be held at The Beauty Spot, 1 Brompton Road, Building 2, Suite 2, Kingston 5.

The make-up artist said that of all the celebrities she's worked, with working with Usain Bolt was the most memorable.

"It was just really wonderful to work with one of your own," she said.

Asked what trend in celebrity make-up savvy women can use, she recommended bright colours on the eyes.

"Women can try to use coloured eyeliners," she said. This allows them to add bold colour without going too much out of their comfort zone or emptying their purses.
