Repaint Passage Fort pedestrian crossings

Published:Saturday | June 2, 2012 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

All the pedestrian crossings that serve the Passage Fort Housing Scheme now need urgent repair/repainting.

The one that is located on George Lee Boulevard, near the eastern entrance of Portmore Drive, is almost now non-existent. It is extensively used by children who attend the Portsmouth Primary School. Only those who knew about it, long ago, attempt to use it as a pedestrian crossing.

Another one is located on Portmore Drive, across from the Portmore Gospel Assembly Infant School. It is in need of repainting.

The other pedestrian crossing of concern is in front of the Portmore Mall. Very little sign of white paint now exists there. Another one is located at the western entrance to the toll road. It really needs to be repainted.

The residents of the community are asking that urgent action be taken to restore these pedestrian crossings.
