It's summer all year round in the Caribbean. However, the make-up trend internationally has always reserved eye-popping colours for the summer season.

Think colours of the rainbow and whichever one you choose, you will be amazed at how creative you can be using it to enhance your eyes.

According to make-up artist Paul March, some persons may shy away from colours simply because they don't know how to apply them. Others may not be confident, but March insists that once the technique is mastered, a beautiful bright effect can be achieved.

He notes that while you can be creative with the colours, there are two techniques that persons should keep in mind to add a 'popping' effect. "Before applying the colour to the eyelids, highlight the brow area first. Also, to make the eyes pop, a dark or deep shade should be used in the outer corners."

For bold eyes, March recommends a neutral lip colour. In cases where colour is preferred, he suggests just a hint of colour. "You don't want the eyes and the lips to be competing," he said.

To demonstrate how you can utilise bright colours in a fun, yet tasteful way, March shows off three different looks that can easily be achieved at home.

Go hard on the eyes this summer!
