More balance in commentary, Mr Thwaites

Published:Wednesday | June 13, 2012 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Daniel Thwaites' article of Tuesday, June 12, 2012, 'Now bring back 'Dudus' Coke', was good reading, except for one glaring omission. All charges and counter-charges aside, Dudus is known to have come to prominence and great profit during the years of People's National Party (PNP) rule.

If sanctions are to be levelled, as Thwaites suggests, would the PNP government of that time be without blame or complicity for turning a seemingly blind eye to Dudus' claim to fame and rise in popularity and wealth?

If Thwaites is to pose questions of the past administration along this line, certainly, the administration preceding the Golding government has, for itself, a lot of questions to answer as well.

Thwaites must be fair and balanced in his comments and articles, as they may wrongly shape the way people who are not in the know view events.
