Five winners of $50,000 each in first week of promotion

Music fans now have the chance to select the Guinness 50 Greatest Dancehall Icons of all time as Guinness celebrates Jamaica 50 with its consumers.

A list of 60 of the most iconic figures in Dancehall was unveiled and music fans will have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to select Dancehall's top 50 icons in celebration of Jamaica's 50th year of independence.

Fans have up to Thursday, July 5 to select the top 50 from the 60 nominated icons, and Guinness will be rewarding consumers in the first week of voting, with five persons winning $50,000 each.

Persons can vote by texting their choice to 444-2451 or logging on to the Guinness Caribbean Facebook page and submitting their votes.

Following the selection of the Guinness 50 Greatest Dancehall Icons by the fans, the voting continues until the number one icon is selected. Over the six weeks of the activity, the list will be trimmed to 30 on July 13, 20 on July 20, 10 on July 27, and the number one Dancehall icon will be announced on August 3.

On July 28, THE STAR will be hosting a party downtown where a selection from the 50 greatest dancehall icons will be performing.

Guinness will be rewarding voters with multiple weekly cash prizes of $5,000, tickets to Reggae Sumfest Dancehall Night, and voting credit for your cellphone.
