Customs seizes 'mosquito medicine'

The Jamaica Customs Department is reporting that over the past two months, it has made five major seizures of black mosquito coils at various seaports and business premises in Kingston.
The item, which is being imported under the name 'mosquito medicine', is banned by the Pesticides Control Authority. The public is being warned not to use the product because it is harmful.
According to the Customs Department, already, importers have faced hefty fines for false declaration, un-manifested goods, excess goods and breach of import permits. Their goods have also been forfeited.
The Customs Department is warning importers that any attempt to import black mosquito coils will not be tolerated.
