ONE YEAR after she was sworn in as prime minister for the second time, Portia Simpson Miller will address the nation in a national broadcast on Sunday.

The prime minister's address will be aired on television and radio.

Jamaica Information Service, the Government's information arm, yesterday said Prime Minister Simpson Miller will address matters relating to the Government's first year in office as well as speak to projections for 2013.

Simpson Miller was sworn in on January 5 last year following her party's empathic victory in the December 29, 2011 general election. The People's National Party (PNP), which she leads, won 42 seats to the Jamaica Labour Party's 21 in the 63-seat House of Representatives.

In the meantime, Simpson Miller is set to lead the Cabinet into a retreat next Thursday.

It is the fourth time that the one-year-old Cabinet will be heading into retreat.
