Global aviation workers fêted

In true Jamaican style, the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) fêted several global aviation professionals during welcome cocktails at the Hilton Rose Hall last Tuesday.
Hosted by JCAA's chairman, Michael Hylton, and his team, including Director General Colonel Oscar Derby, the Hilton dished out a spread of authentic Jamaican patties and callaloo fritters, served with an extremely delicious pepper sauce.
The Montego Bay resort included quiches and spring rolls to add an international flavour to an evening ideally designed for networking.
After all, the hotel had at its fingertips some 200 aviation experts from 26 countries.
By day, the professionals discussed and tried to find solutions to the challenges facing their growing industry, while making the best of the fun side of Jamaica by night.
The event attracted the likes of Minister of Transport, Works and Housing Dr Omar Davies, permanent secretary in the ministry, Audrey Sewell; regional director of ICAO, Loretta Martin, captain Mostafa Hoummady, and Diego Martinez of, Air Navigation Bureau, and head of the Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency, Jennifer McDonald.
