MEMBER OF Parliament for West Kingston Desmond McKenzie has offered a $300,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible for the fatal shooting of Tashanique 'Dana' James in the Denham Town area of the constituency on Thursday.

McKenzie has also promised to take care of the funeral expenses of the child, who was fatally shot in the head at her house on Bread Lane about 6:30 Thursday evening.

McKenzie said the killing should be the tipping point for residents of Denham Town to work with the police to rid the community of the handful of gangsters who are involved in a bloody gang war.

"If they don't want to go to the police, come and tell me because I'm the biggest police informer right now. If I get a name, I will give it to the police.

"This can't continue, and I'm saying to the police, whatever they have to do to get back peace to this community, they have to do it. They have to rid the community of these criminals, and it is not a lot of them," McKenzie told The Gleaner.
