WESTERN BUREAU:

Renowned as Jamaica's unofficial ambassador across Europe, art buff, Theresa Roberts, with the support of husband, Andrew, took fashion lovers to the apex of delight over two nights when she unveiled 'Medina' and 'Dusk to Dawn' in the tourism capital.

Roberts opened up her posh Tryall Club home, Hanover Grange, and unleashed what has been dubbed the best fashion showcase to appear on any Jamaican stage.

A lover of fine things, Roberts hand-picked designer for the stars, Isabell Kristensen, and complemented her stunning pieces with designs from young UK talent, Christopher Childs and Natalie Talbott, who both boast Jamaican parentage, along with local brand Reve Jewellery for her two-night fashion fest.

The showcase commenced on Tuesday night, at Sandals Royal Caribbean's private offshore island, but little did the guests who turned up know that this was only the tip of the iceberg.

night's proceedings

After feasting on the samplings of Talbot's 'Missionary Kid' collection, Childs' tailored bespoke suits and Reve Jewellery's African inspired, Jamaican-completed, antique-style necklaces and flirty flowing chiffon tops and Kaftans, fashionistas were served the main course and dessert by Kristensen.

The UK-based, Denmark-born designer, whose achievements in the glamourous world of haute couture are endless, has dressed some of the world's most beautiful and talented women, including Nicole Kidman, Paris Hilton, Shirley Bassey and Princess Charlene of Monaco.

This was exactly what Roberts needed to make her way into the book of 'Respec, Boss Lady' and the hearts of fashion lovers throughout Jamaica.
