Super Lotto jackpot so close … but not quite

More than 500 Jamaicans have missed winning the Super Lotto jackpot by just one number since the game's inception in 2009.

This year alone, more than 160 Jamaicans have won millions by catching Match 5 but missing the bonus ball. But don't cry too much for them; they were still able to take home about J$67 million.

"The money won has been well received," said Sonia Davidson, Supreme Ventures' Limited vice-president of group corporate communications. "We have heard so many positive stories from a variety of persons from across the island."

Davidson said persons have expressed dreams of paying down on their own home and providing their children with educational opportunities, improving their businesses and planning for retirement.

Noting the number of people who had missed the jackpot by one number, Davidson said: "If people keep on playing, they could win the jackpot next time around."

Other winners have come from islands such as Barbados, Anguilla, and the Dominican Republic. Players have won over J$3.9 billion combined.
