World Championships 200m silver medallist Warren Weir has been added to the already-impressive 100m line-up for next Saturday's Jamaica International Invitational (JII) inside the National Stadium.

The IAAF World Challenge-certified meet has already secured some of the biggest names in track and field for its 11th staging and Weir's inclusion will add even more fireworks to the event.

The 2012 Olympic 200m bronze medal winner is looking to compete in more 100m races this year, and he couldn't have asked for a better field with Americans Justin Gatlin, the World Champs silver medallist, and Walter Dix, as well as World Champs bronze medal winner Nesta Carter, all set to compete.

Weir has a personal best of 10.02 in the 100m and has featured in two races this season, posting 10.31 at the UWI Invitational in March before being disqualified at the UTech Classics a few weeks ago.

The JII field already includes Jamaican stars Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Stephenie McPherson, Kaliese Spencer, Novlene Williams-Mills and Nickel Ashmeade, along with overseas standouts LaShawn Merritt, Luguelin Santos, Brianna Rollins, Allyson Felix and Felix Sanchez.
