Sanchez, Beenie Man billed for Phillie jerk festival

Yet another Reggae festival has been birthed, and the organisers clearly intend to start on a high, billing top reggae acts for the upcoming show.

According to a press release from organisers Jabari Production Event Series, the inaugural Philadelphia Jerk Festival is scheduled for June 22, at the Cobbs Creek Recreational grounds in Philadelphia.

Top acts Sanchez and Beenie Man have already been billed for the show along with Jah Selah, Tasha T, Xyclone, M-Gee and Mr Easy.

Aside from the artiste line-up, the festival hopes to attract more than 7,000 patrons by targeting families.

Children 12 and under are to be admitted free and will be given access to the kids zone, where they can engage in face painting and art and craft.

Sponsored by Western Union, The Hilton hotel and New Millionaire Entertainment, the event is expected to showcase the best of Caribbean culture, specifically its food.
