Digicel makes Tessanne new brand ambassador

She has always been affiliated with telecommunications giant Digicel, but on Wednesday night, Jamaica's songbird Tessanne Chin was officially named the company's regional brand ambassador.
The announcement was made at an exclusive listening party held on the roof of Digicel's regional headquarters in downtown Kingston.
In addition to being given the official title, the season-five winner of NBC's 'The Voice' debuted songs from her highly anticipated studio album, Count On My Love, including the singles Tumbling Down and Everything Reminds Me Of You. Both songs are available for pre-order on iTunes.
In a press release, Tessanne expressed excitement at joining the Digicel family.
"Winning 'The Voice' was a dream come true for me and the last couple of months have just been a whirlwind of unforgettable experiences. Now, becoming a Digicel brand ambassador is the icing on the cake," she said.
Chin, having worked with Digicel as part of a judging panel for its Rising Stars competition and collaborating on the song, Rise Again, as part of its Haiti earthquake relief effort, said she was looking forward to continuing promoting Caribbean culture through music.
Supporting local talent
Digicel Group's head of sponsorship, James Wynne, in his statement, said Digicel had always supported home-grown talent, and so making the decision to name Chin an ambassador an easy one.
"Her approachable personality, positive vibes and extraordinary talent make her a perfect fit as she shares the rich sounds of the Caribbean with her fans across the world," he said.
"We are looking forward to bigger and better things to come from her in the very near future."
Count On My Love will be released by Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group Recordings and follows her 2010 effort, In Between Worlds.
It is expected to drop later this month.
