Two alleged would-be robbers were fatally shot by a licensed firearm holder in May Pen, Clarendon, Friday night.

The police also recovered a loaded 9-mm pistol following the shooting.

The dead men have been identified as 23-year-old Tafari 'Little Joe' Mitchell and David 'Fref-Fref' Waugh, both of Sevens Road in the parish. Waugh was out on bail after being arrested on larceny charges.

According to the police, the licensed firearm holder had gone to a garage at the intersection of Love Lane and Bryant Crescent to effect repairs to his motor car when he was attacked by the two men who attempted to rob him.
