Best food forward - Ribbiz excites with World Cup menu

Make your taste buds shout G-O-A-L!!!! hitting the right spot as you enjoy the play on the field. Nothing goes better with the excitement and adrenaline rush of a good ball game than a palate-pleasing dish. Sports bars across the island will be putting their best foot forward to ensure that you have a truly sensory experience, and so we ventured into the kitchen at Ribbiz lounge in Barbican Centre so see what they had cooking for World Cup.

Platters loaded with chicken wings, seafood, and pork galore. The ultimate wing platter, or the Red Stripe seafood sampler loaded with shrimp balls, Red Stripe battered fish strips, panko shrimp, bammy sticks and red herring fritters washed down perfectly with ice-cold Red Stripe beer

We also found some pork chops on the grill in the form of Ribbiz smoked pork chop in jerk pineapple sauce. The pork loin and pineapple slices are slightly rubbed with Ribbiz special in-house blend of jerk seasoning and grilled on an open flame. The pineapple jerk glaze is then heated in a sauce-pan and used to smother the glaze before being topped with pineapple slices and sprinkled with parsley and crushed red pepper. It is served with curry potato balls, a Ribbiz speciality, drizzled with Ribbiz mango chutney. Ribbiz spicy southwest salad completes the meal. Now, that's a dish that will really have you powered up to enjoy each goal.

Ciroc Skinny Cosmo

2 ounces Ciroc Vodka

1/2 ounce Triple Sec

11/2 ounces cranberry juice

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake well. Serve in a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cherry.

Ciroc Blue Ocean

2 ounces Ciroc Vodka

Splash of grapefruit juice

Splash of Blue Curacao

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake well. Serve in a champagne flute. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit of mint.
