Crack down on noisy Stony Hill club

Published:Saturday | June 14, 2014 | 12:00 AM

Four nights a week, we are at the mercy of music blaring from a club that recently opened in the Stony Hill area. Despite the Noise Abatement Act and nightly and weekly calls to the police, nearby residents are being subjected to all sorts of loud music, sometimes until 3:30 a.m.

It is mind-boggling that a licence/permit could have been issued for a club to operate in the middle of a residential community. This noise pollution should not be allowed to continue.

We need to get our rest and sleep so that we can get up the next day and be productive residents/citizens of this country.

The Noise Abatement Act should apply to all, not just a chosen few. We support our hard-working police officers, but they must be resilient in enforcing the act, regardless of who the violators are.
