Gospel music enthusiasts in western Jamaica are in for a treat this evening at the Montego Bay Community College when a slew of international and local acts will perform at the Gospel Prescription 2014 concert.
The event is aimed at raising funds to support programmes to be implemented by Executive Chairman of promoters Teamwork Associates, Dr Winsome Oban, and her team, with part proceeds going to the St James Infirmary.
The line-up will include, among others, 2006 JCDC Gospel Festival winner Clive Warren, Sandra Brooks, Paul Blake, Stephen Blake, Jermaine Edwards, Bahamas-based Orlando Francis, and Johnny B. Williams from Jewett, Texas.
The event is to be preceded by a red carpet cocktail reception and a presentation on 'Leadership and Character in the 21st Century' by author, lecturer, government consultant, and leadership mentor Dr Myles Munroe at the Teamwork Conference Centre, Coral Gardens.
"The presentation by Dr Munroe is in response to calls from the governor general, the prime minister, and the leader of opposition for intervention for what is happening in our country," said Oban on Wednesday.
"Dr Munroe has travelled the world having this important discussion, so we thought he was ideal to talk to us on this important topic. As a result, we contacted Dr Munroe and invited him to come to Jamaica to address the issues on the hearts of our leaders," she added.
