Jamaica's Sunshine Girls wrapped up their three-Test friendly netball series with a close 40-33 victory over Barbados in their final match, at the G.C. Foster College in St Catherine last night.

The Jamaicans won the series 3-0 following victories in the opening two matches.

The Sunshine Girls, who rested top shooter Jhaniele Fowler for yesterday's game, were led to victory courtesy of Shantal Slater's 17 goals from 20 attempts. She received good support from Shanice Beckford (14 from 17), Deneen Taylor (five from seven) and Thristina Harwood (four from eight).

Sheniqua Thomas, with 13 goals from 17 tries and Neikta Piggott, 13 goals from 15 attempts, were the top scorers for Barbados.

Jill McIntosh, technical director of the Sunshine Girls, was pleased the team's performance.

"I think it (series) was invaluable because it gave the selectors a chance to look at all 17 players throughout the matches," said McIntosh.

Jamaica won the first game 57-36 on Friday night and Saturday's second encounter 50-29.
