Jericho Rangers FC sliced through the Mount Pelier FC defence, en route to a convincing 3-0 win in the Captain's Bakery and Grill Hanover FA Major League mid-season final at Orchard playing field.

Victory also kept the leaders unbeaten in six matches to date and set them up for a $15,000 bonus. Mount Pelier got $10,000.

Rangers looked more dangerous in attack from the outset, but were wasteful in the final third, giving the overmatched Mount Pelier reasons to believe they could spring a surprise.

Those hopes were dashed on the 30th-minute mark when Renaud Mangal popped up inside the area to score the opener.

From then on, it was a matter of time before the Mount Pelier defence gave up another. After only two minutes, Derrel Jowery, always a nuisance in front of goal, scored his team's second of the Saturday afternoon contest, as Rangers went into the break with a clear advantage.

Wasted chances

Mount Pelier showed character early in the second half and battled on equal terms against the clearly stronger Rangers side but, as luck would have it, they too wasted a number of chances to score and Rangers' midfielder Oshane Pine made them pay.

Pine lashed home Rangers' third goal in the 75th minute, signalling there was no way back for Mount Pelier.
