Supreme Ventures Limited's sponsorship and PR manager, Carlene Edwards has tipped World Cup 'dark horses' Belgium to stage an upset against top team Argentina today.

Both teams will clash in the World Cup quarter-finals at the Estádio Nacional in Brasilia, Brazil starting at 11 a.m. In the day's other last eight game, Netherlands face Costa Rica at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador at 3 p.m.

"I think Belgium will take this one. It won't be a big win but I predict that Belgium will edge Argentina by 1-0, or 2-1. Argentina are playing well, led by Lionel Messi, but I really think it will be an upset," Edwards told The Gleaner.

In the day's other game, Edwards is siding with the Netherlands to stop the run of CONCACAF's Costa Rica.

"I also think that Netherlands will beat Costa Rica 1-0 in regular time but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to penalty kicks," she assessed.

Marcel 'Fuzzy' Gayle, assistant coach of St George's College Manning Cup football team thinks that Netherlands and Argentina will win the respective games.

"Netherlands are the in-form team with players such as Robin Van Persie, Arjen Robben, Jonathan de Guzman and Wesley Sneijder playing well. The pedigree is different, so I say Holland will win 1-0 against Costa Rica," Gayle said.

Mercurial Messi

Gayle thinks Argentina with the mercurial Lionel Messi will be too much for Belgium.

"The Messi factor will prove to be the difference in this game. I expect Argentina to win 1-0," he noted.

And, former national senior team football representative, Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson tips Argentina and Netherlands to win the games.

"Argentina with Messi will beat Belgium by 1-0 in the 89th minute," Anderson. "In the next game, Netherlands are my pick over Costa Rica by about 2-0," he said.
