Midweek win puts Kinloss in third place

Kinloss picked up their second win of the season when they defea-ted Jackson Town 3-1 in the Trelawny FA/Wata Under-17 football league in midweek, to remain second in Zone A of the Clark's Town region.

Shemaro Moriah netted the opener in the 17th minute and the lead was doubled in the 23rd minute when Kevaughn Campbell beat the Jackson Town goalkeeper with a neat finish. The game was made safe from an Adrian Hines goal 18 minutes from full time. Michael Riley scored Jackson Town's only goal in the 55th minute.

In the meantime, Kinloss kept pace with front-running Clark's Town, who are unbeaten in three matches for a perfect nine points.

Jackson Town (six) are a point behind Kinloss, while Albert Town (four) and the pointless Duanvale round out Zone A.

In Zone B, Prospect Links tagged Flames 2-0 on goals from Roniel Christie (21st) and Onique Small (79th), as the Links remain a strong bet for the latter rounds and lead the zone on maximum 12 points from four matches.

Rio Bueno, who hold down second spot in the zone, tasted their second loss of the season when they were defeated 1-0 by Upsetters. Desron Whyne scored the lone goal, as Upsetters moved level on points with Rio Bueno. Both are on six points. The struggling Spicy Hill (four) and Flames (one) complete the zonal standings.

Increase the advantage

Meanwhile, in the Queen of Spain region, Harmony pulled within a point of leaders Classic, with a big 4-1 win over Wakefield.

Alando Clarke scored Har-mony's first goal in the 26th minute, Aldayne James increased the advantage just after half-time, and then Tavane Kerr netted a brace in the 60th and 64th minutes. Horace Gordon pulled one back for Wakefield.

Classic did not kick a ball as their opponents failed to show, handing the leaders three points and three goals as a result under league rules. It was the same for Albert Town, who were down to face Duanvale.
