Offensive 'Heil, Hitler' by CVM's Rohan Daley

Ignorance, they say, is bliss. So yesterday, Rohan Daley, the CVM television presenter, was blissfully and embarrassingly ignorant.

Mr Daley apparently supported Germany in the football World Cup and was in a celebratory mood after Germany's victory over Argentina in yesterday's final. To demonstrate his joy, he went on set and proclaimed "Heil, Hitler," the Nazi party salute, which to modern Germans and many people around the world is offensive, harking back to a bigoted period of history and Hitler's monumental crime against humanity that left six million Jews dead - and millions more of other ethnicities - and the world convulsed in war, in which many Jamaicans died.

Mr Daley owes Jamaica and the German people an apology for besmirching their World Cup victory.
