'A superb achievement'
Making the Million Dollar Round Table
Christopher Chin was among those members of the Scotia Jamaica Insurance Company who recently achieved Million Dollar Round Table (MRDT) status. He joined the rest of his colleagues from around the world at the MDRT annual meeting in Toronto, Canada, from June 7-11.
Chin describes his experience as being one of, "great excitement, uplifting inspiration and superb achievement." He told The Gleaner that the environment gave him the opportunity to share space and time with thousands of great achievers within the insurance and the financial industry from different countries and ethnicities around the world. The moment served as a memorable one for him as well as something worth cherishing, as it presented a springboard for continued success and inspiration.
During the series of sessions, many things were reinforced for Chin: "I learnt that, as insurance advisors, our primary job is to provide money for our clients when it is most needed, not to be a good choice only, but instead create wow experiences for our customers and clients that will make it impossible for our presence to be ignored; and how to be the safe and first choice when customers have any need for financial advice."
He also managed to get an even higher honour, the 'Court of The Table'. This honour reflects that there was production of three times the requirements of the MDRT's membership requirements. This honour was attained by those who demonstrated exceptional professional knowledge, client service, and ethical conduct.
Chin, when asked what he did differently from his other colleagues who did not qualify for the MRDT, said there was no 'complex formula' for his success. His success can be attributed to " starting with a plan of action and strategies outline for each day, week, month and year. Once that is done, leads are generated primarily through quality relationships and maintenance of those relationships."
The achievement of Court of The Table for Chin was a milestone that has shaped his perception of life. He now lives by the philosophy: 'to believe that the only limit on one's life is the limit you place on yourself'. This inspires him to lift his standard of performance even higher for the current financial year. He also hopes to manage an entire sales team one day in the near future - in order to share, mentor and help others accomplish their ultimate best in the insurance industry.
