Jamaica cursed for not supporting Israel?
THE EDITOR, Sir:
It has been quite some time since Jamaica's political leaders have been gathering at National Leadership Prayer Breakfast to pray to the God of Israel, Jehovah. But, at the United Nations, where Israel is condemned for every little thing, even for daring to defend itself against those bent on the destruction of the state of Israel, I have never seen Jamaica among those voting in support of, or among those abstaining from, voting against Israel, though the Jews have never done injustice to Jamaica, and the majority of Jamaica's Christians love them.
In Genesis 12:1-3, God said He will bless those who bless Israel, and curse those who curse Israel. Famine is one of the ways God curses or punishes a nation. Since the Israeli government has never done evil or injustice to Jamaica, perhaps Jamaica is being bribed to constantly vote against Israel. Yet if so, any amount Jamaica is being bribed is peanuts to the blessings Jamaica can accrue from the God of Israel, in standing with Israel.
After serving their 2,000-year dispersal punishment for rejection and crucifixion of the Messiah, God said He would bring the Jews back to the very land from which He dispersed them at the hands of the Romans. It was from Judaea and Samaria, today called the West Bank by detractors, that He dispersed them.
So Jamaica is playing with fire in voting with idol worshippers and worshippers of Satan seeking to prevent the Jews from occupying their ancient homeland, which squatters want for themselves.
God is merciful and longsuffering, and so even in drought allows water for sustenance of life. So perhaps the water woes affecting Jamaica has to do with incompetence.
An official of the National Water Commission, speaking on radio, noted that it usually does not allow the first run-off from rainfall to flow into the dam, because of the high turbidity. But wouldn't it be a bigger splash of sense to build an additional dam to also catch the turbid water then, after it is settled, pump the clean water into the main reservoir? Additionally, a dam could be built on the plot of land between the former Cremo ice cream factory and the Ferry River, and the water flowing to the sea from the Ferry and Rio Cobre rivers diverted into it, easing the pressure on the other two sole dams from 'eternity'.
