The 62nd staging of the annual Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food show kicked off yesterday with several events.

Jamaica's longest-serving Prime Minister PJ Patterson was led on a tour of the Denbigh showgrounds by president of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, Senator Norman Grant.

Patterson expressed delight at the innovations and creativity displayed at the booths he visited.

The exhibitors in the parish pavilions showed off a variety of products from their parishes and were yesterday putting on the final touches for the parish pavillion competition.

Governor General Sir Patrick Allen was expected to deliver the main address and present a lifetime award to the Custos of Clarendon William Shagoury.

Denbigh, this year, is being held under the theme 'Grow What We Eat, Eat What We Grow: Agriculture - Going for Growth.'
