Roger Clarke's health none of your business
THE EDITOR, Sir:
In response to Garth Rattray's article 'Jamaican health care not good enough for Roger Clarke?' (Gleaner, August 4, 2014), I don't understand why persons believe being a public figure makes all aspects of your life open to public discussion.
A person's health and where he seeks treatment is his own personal choice. I live about two minutes away from a doctor's office, but whenever I need to see a doctor, I choose to drive 20 minutes away. This has nothing to do with the competence of the doctor who operates close to me but my own personal preference, which is my right. Mr Roger Clarke has that same right.
Being in public office does not open all aspects of a person's life to public decision. A person's health is one of those things.
