The Westmoreland police have picked up three more persons believed to be involved in the shooting of Corporal Peter Salkey and another man in the parish last week.

This brings to four the number of persons being held by the police for questioning in connection with the shooting.

Last week, the police held another man identified only as ‘Bugs Crime’ who is of a Norwood St. James address.

Last Thursday, gunmen attacked Corporal Peter Salkey, Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) liaison officer for St. James at a church in Bethel Town.

The policeman and a church leader were in the process of closing the church when gunmen approached them and reportedly opened fire on the two.

Corporal Salkey received two shots, one to the chest and the other to the abdomen.
