A man was arrested in downtown Kingston yesterday after he reportedly attempted to bribe a member of a police team.

Charged with bribery and resisting arrest is 45 year old Raphael Walker, of Seaview Gardens in Kingston.

Walker is to appear before the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrate’s court next week Tuesday.

The police said around 10.45 am, Mr. Walker was spotted committing a traffic offence at the intersection of West Queen Street and West Street.

The police said Mr. Walker subsequently offered an Island Special Constabulary Force (ISCF) member $800 to avoid the charges.

Mr. Walker also resisted arrest and tried to escape.
