The authorities in Serbia are to ascertain the identity of a body found on the compound of the US Embassy in Belgrade.

The body is believed to be that of a protestor involved in a massive demonstration yesterday.

The angry protestors were demonstrating against Kosovo’s independence. They set fire to a section of the Embassy and attempted to set the US flag on fire.

At the time of the attack, the Embassy was closed and unsecured.

32 people including 14 police officers were injured during the riot.

A smaller group of protestors also attacked police post at the Turkish and British Embassies, in other parts of the city.
