US diplomat to visit Jamaica

United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Kirsten Madison is expected to make an official visit to Jamaica next week Wednesday.



Ms. Madison will meet with government leaders, business representatives, members of civil society and the press.



She is expected to hold discussions on issues such as counter-narcotics and hemispheric security, crime, corruption and policy initiatives to support economic development in Jamaica.



The Consular Section of the US Embassy will open up visa renewal appointments on March 8 for persons holding a 10 year, multiple-entry visa with expiration dates from March 8, 2007 to March 7, 2009.



Applicants must pay their fee and schedule their appointments online.
